Each of my gardens is
designed to be beautiful, fruitful and easy to care for.
Each is a place of
retreat and quiet from the business of everyday.
They are my prayer sanctuaries
and places of respite from the world.
Late Spring - May 26, 1999
Rhubarb has been harvested and strawberries and raspberries are beginning to grow in
abundance.
Daisies are hiding strawberry blossoms
from pesky birds.
Cool spring nights and warm fires
The perennial walk has Hostas fully grown and Peonies budding out.
A private fence lined with day lilies and iris shields the house from the busy street.
Late tulips at red and yellow with
pots of geraniums adding touches of magenta and red.
Lettuce is ready for harvesting,
radishes and peas are reaching skyward. And beans,
potatoes and tomatoes
are waiting for warmer weather to rapidly grow.
Warm weather crops are just
beginning to become outdoor hardy.
Already the grapes are heading up to the top of the arbor.
The hops are already reaching the eaves, chokecherries have bloomed and pumpkins
and
squash are beginning to peek
their heads out from the airplane.

Phlox graces the edging of growing
perennial beds.
