Laws of Prayer

We can't pray against somebody's will. Even God cannot do that. It would go against His own nature. God gave us free will to choose. God cannot answer a pray against someone's free will.

This would include

  • Lord please change somebody's mind (self-serving and manipulation)
  • Asking God to make someone do something that you want them to do (self-serving, manipulation, and control)

Proper way to pray in these situations is Praying God's will

  • "Lord let your will be done in (name) life

and bless them with

  • wisdom, knowledge and understanding
  • healing
  • peace
  • kindness
  • love
  • direction to reveal His plan in their life for Him.

so that they can know what is Your perfect will for their lives.

You can pray for a person to be healed or come off drugs. Because that is NOT God's will for those people's lives. You can stand against anything that does not line up with the Word of God for a person's life.

It is not God's will for people

  • to be sick
  • to be fighting among themselves
  • to be injured

God created the world and all of nature. Nature is the natural course of life and includes disease, destruction and death. Only Jesus His Only Son was able to overcome these natural forces by His Spirit. Jesus through his death on the cross offers this Spirit of Holiness to each of us as a free gift. All you need to do is ask sincerely for it and you will receive it.

Webweaver notes: I am a Christian so I sought the Lord in prayer over these issues...and the thought came to me to deeply teach the 10 commandments. These were BIG rules...God's rules...and my FASD child loves rules she can hold onto to keep her safe... The other thing I realized is she only obeys the rules WHEN she understands them and knows they are for real. So we took one commandment a week, and the whole family in all our actions really focused on all the details of it...BEAR FALSE WITNESS...lying, gossip, exaggeration...Check out the lessons plans above.  Results...my child decided to live her life based on the 10 Commandments....The good news...she is much happier and safer. The bad news...If anyone exaggerates or tells a story a bit differently than she sees it...we are publically announced that we are lying and she tells her side of the story which can be VERY different than what we remember....
